This paper is a survey of the domestic content of the geography textbooks of primary and middle school used between 1879 and 1986 in Argentina. It tries to identify, in an empirical way, cultural conditioning of the government efforts in Argentina, especially in the field of foreign policy. In particular, seeks to contribute to understanding the Argentine irredentism regarding the Falkland Islands.
