Abstract

“Brexit” is a contraction of “Britain” and “exit” (from Europe). Prime Minister Cameron wanted to solve the two problems of English political life: the Scottish independence trend and the threat of Euro-scepticism. It seems that the English had harmed themselves with the referendum: drop of the pound, worse rating from Standard & Poor’s, companies and banks leaving London and threatened secession of Scotland. The EU and taking positions are daughters of a narrative that has been painted blue with stars in a circle as a symbol of peace, friendship, prosperity and unity. But there are tensions and different ways of seeing a new collective subject that still has opaque entities. The Brexit proposes new economic scenarios in a difficult world situation and requires a new political proposal to the West threatened by terrorist acts and nationalist and xenophobic populism.
