State Control and Administration: A Review of its Development

The article inspects the historical and conceptual processes of centralization of political power in the state as an institution, arguing that that process was contingent and paying special attention to the concept of territorial sovereignty. Secondly, it refers to state’s administration autonomy or dependence on economic conditions, and it concludes that in Latin America it is necessary to strenghthen state institutions.
