Domingo Cavallo and his Changing Political Strategies (1965-2001)

Abstract

This work seeks to reconstruct the trajectory of Domingo Cavallo based on his changing political strategies. For this, the different profiles and bets that he developed to accumulate political capital will be addressed. From his commitment to military and corporate power, through the Mediterranean Foundation, as well as through mass political parties and the figure of the specialist in economic knowledge. We will analyze his strategies “from above”, “from below”, partisan and electoral. At the end of the work some reflections will be offered as a critical balance.
