This article analyses the political party dynamics of the Unión Cívica Radical from Córdoba, from its electoral defeat by the end of 1998 until the district elections of 2003. Working on a corpus of interviews to party members and selected press articles, we delve into the organization conditions that turned the UCR incapable of becoming an electoral alternative at the beginning of the 21st century. The analysis is focused on the displacements and conflicts in the constitution of the dominant party coalition, in the broader context of socio-political crisis in the end of 20th century and beginnings of the 21st. During this period, there was a leadership crisis of the “radicalismo” from Córdoba, within a changing institutional representative format, known as “crisis of representativity”, and a decline of support from various segments of local voters.
