The he Competitive Results in a Multi-level Competition Scenario: A Study of the Province of Buenos Aires and its Municipalities (1983-2015)

Abstract

The Province of Buenos Aires is a multi-level competition scenario. This paper proposes to investigate in this district the temporal evolution of the degree of congruence in the governmental competitive result and the partisan competitive result manifested in the election of executive positions between the provincial and the local level during the period 1983-2015. It will be exposed that the temporal evolution did not follow a uniform pattern during these years, finding different levels of congruence, which will be demonstrative of the complexity of the multi-level arena in Buenos Aires.
