Abstract

This article is a critique of the process of concept formation. In the field of political science, new definitions should take into account the operational accuracy as well as the concept’s historical dimension and its use by different approaches. The article illustrates this point by using concepts as “majoritarian democracy”, “catch-all party” and “prince”.
