Abstract

Democratization processes in Latin America, and the “persistence” of the resulting regimes, led to a generalized optimism. But later those regimes, that seemed to belong to the democratic genre, showed they were not democratic. With the aim of contribute to clarify the legacy of transition in America Latina, the article seeks to delve on this topic and give an answer to the question: ¿what are those Latin American regimes that are not what they seem? Thus, it presents an alternative typology.
