Abstract

Economics, political science and law have federalism as a study matter, but this sciences has built their federal theory without considering each other. In order to try to reach an interdisciplinary vision we start by identifying three meanings: federalism as structure, the federal process and federalism as a principle. Afterwards, we research about the state of the art of the federalism comprehension in each discipline (law, political science and economics), and we found multiple aims and common or complementary elements that required a joint analysis to a better understanding of public sector and to improve normative theory of federalism.
