The public relevance of comparative politics

Abstract

The article analyzes four short propositions. The first three concern the practical relevance of the explanations, the factual knowledge, and the conceptual tools of comparative politics. The remaining addresses the methodological as well as political problems that may arise if political studies become useful for politics itself.
