Abstract

The return of democracy in Argentina in 1983 opened a new period of electoral competition, where political parties recovered their role as the main political actors. Taking into account that in every election between 1983 and 1995 there has been a “critical” subject or issue discussed by the public opinion, the author verifies that the party that has gained greater influence on the design of the electoral agenda has had more chances of winning the election than the rest.
