Totality and Totalization: an Approach of the Ernesto Laclau’s Early Work

Abstract

The aimof this article is to expose Ernesto Laclau’s evolution from Marxism to Posmarxism understanded like a transition from one category of totality Marxist-Althusserian to one of totality as discursive practice. This interpretation is sustained thanks to the recovery of Laclau’s early work (the one located between Politics and ideology in Marxist Theory and Hegemony and socialist strategy), whitch allows to appreciate ruptures and continuities on his work and problematize the periodization of his intellectual biography
