Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study contemporary neoliberalism by making a parallelism between it and some logics of religions in general. Inspired by Walter Benjamin’s “Capitalismas religion”weinterpretourmodernity and we demonstrate why we can think about neoliberalismas the most religious moment of capitalism. With this in mind, we analyze the theories held by Byung –ChulHanin “TheBurnout Society” and, as well, Maurizio Lazzaratto’s in “The making of the indebted man”. We examinetherole played by guilt and debt in neoliberalismand try to showthe continuities between the capitalism that Benjamin studied and our nowadays.
